On November 2nd, Vietnamese Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and Laos Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Baykham Khattiya co-chaired the seventh Vietnam-Laos Ministerial online Conference on Labor and Social Welfare.

The seventh Vietnam-Laos Ministerial Conference on Labor and Social Welfare is given the context of the growing Vietnam-Laos solidarity and comprehensive relationship despite the effect of COVID-19 pandemic on socio-economic development of the two countries.

At the same time, the two countries are actively implementing documents of the XIII Congress of Vietnamese Communist Party the XI Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, including the 10-year socio-economic development strategy in period of 2021 – 2030; the orientations and tasks for socio-economic development in the five years from 2021 to 2025 of Vietnam; the 9th Five-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan of Laos.

Through the conference, the two Ministers agreed with the Report on cooperation results in the period of 2019-2021 and cooperation orientation on labor and society in the period of 2021-2025. Two Ministers signed the Minutes of the 7th Labor and Social Welfare Ministerial Conference, in which, the two Ministries continue to promote the cooperation practically and effectively, that focus on promoting implementation of Vietnam - Laos Labor Cooperation Agreement in 2013; strengthening experiences exchange in laws and policy formulation; encouraging localities and related organizations to associate with each other and expand their cooperation in the field of labor and social welfare…

Vietnamese Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs and the Laos Minister of Labor and Social Welfare also agreed to organize their 8th conference in Laos in 2023.
